Keep useful context between agent sessions with local-first persistent memory. One memory engine with a thin adapter per host, all opening the same local SQLite database, so something learned in one agent session is available in the next.

Images

Images come from the project README. Images are copied from the public repository under its MIT license and served from this site.

What it does

  • Local SQLite database: no account, dashboard or vendor copy.
  • Embeddings and the janitor model are local by default; cloud providers are opt-in.
  • Adapters for Claude Code, OpenCode, Pi and OpenClaw, plus a native Hermes Python plugin.

Requirements

  • Bun runtime.
  • Optional: a local llama.cpp embeddings server; without it recall uses full-text search.
  • OpenClaw adapter: OpenClaw 2026.9.6 or later, Node 24 and Bun on PATH (documented).

Permissions and access

  • Writes a local memory database and registers hooks, commands and memory tools in the host.
  • The git-clone installer edits ~/.claude.json and ~/.claude/settings.json and adds the memory tools to the permission allow list.
  • Stored memory may not be redacted; the README documents where secret scrubbing does not apply.
Network: Memory text stays local by default. Cloud embedding or janitor providers send data only when you opt in.
